Teaching drivers
since 1970.
James Fischer earned his degree in Education from the Wisconsin State University System in 1969 and completed graduate work in Traffic Safety at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. He began teaching driver education in public schools in 1970 and expanded into private driver training in 1973.
He founded Trident Drivers School in 1980 and taught in the Milton School District from 1982 through 2004. Across his career, he has taught more than 15,000 students and logged nearly one million miles in a driver-training car.
James is a licensed instructor and Wisconsin DOT Instructor Trainer. He also holds a commercial driver’s license, has interstate trucking experience, has presented at a national professional-driver-education conference, and has served as a consultant to the American Driver Education Resource Center.

Family-owned. Wisconsin-focused.
Trident opened in Janesville in 1980 and expanded to the Walworth County area in 1995. Today, the school brings its practical approach to online classroom learning for teens across Wisconsin.
